POSITAL’s latest IXARC heavy-duty rotary encoders are designed to deliver robust performance in demanding applications where high shaft loads and harsh conditions are common. Featuring reinforced bearings, these encoders withstand radial shaft loads of up to 350 N and axial loads up to 250 N, making them ideal for marine and offshore installations, cranes, construction machinery, forestry equipment, and mining operations. 

Available with rugged aluminum or corrosion-resistant V4A (316L) stainless steel housings, these encoders are built to endure extreme environments. IP67-rated sealing protects internal components from dust and water ingress, while a semi-permeable membrane prevents internal moisture buildup, reducing the risk of condensation and measurement errors. 

Designed to withstand shocks up to 200 g and continuous vibrations up to 20 g, these encoders operate reliably in temperatures ranging from -40°C to +80°C. They are certified for hazardous environments (ATEX/IECEx, Zones 2 and 22)

Offered in absolute and incremental versions, IXARC encoders feature multiple interfaces, including PROFINET, SSI, CANopen, EtherCAT, and EtherNet/IP. M12 connectors enable daisy-chaining for simplified cabling, and built-in LEDs support easy setup. With POSITAL’s flexible mass customization system, customers can configure their encoders to match the exact application requirements — delivered within days.
