Driving and Steering System
AGVs and AMRs rely on their "brain" to control steering, ensuring safe navigation and obstacle avoidance. While accurate absolute position sensors are ideal, integrating them into the steering system can be challenging, depending on design and space constraints. POSITAL IXARC encoders, KIT encoders, and innovative designs offer practical solutions for both new and retrofit steering systems, providing the necessary form, fit, signal functionality, and performance.
Handling System
Mobile platforms are another type of AGV/AMR vehicle, designed to execute their intended tasks of transporting, lifting and palletizing. POSITAL LINARIX solutions afford precise lifting position sensing while POSITAL TILTIX inclinometers provide responsive and accurate platform tilt measurement.
Stepper Motors
Stepper motors are a type of brushless motor with a high pole count, typically 100 poles or 50 pole pairs. They offer a cost-effective and straightforward motion control system, where a 100-pole motor can rotate the rotor in 200 distinct positions (steps) per shaft rotation. These motors are commonly used in lower-end motion control systems and are driven with a simple step and direction input.
Servo Motors
A servo motor is a rotary electric motor that allows for precise control of angular position, velocity and acceleration. It consists of a suitable motor coupled to a sensor for position feedback. It also requires a relatively sophisticated controller, often a dedicated module designed specifically for use with servo motors.
Hollow Bore / Direct Drive Motors / Frameless Motors
Hollow bore motors, also known as hollow shaft or through shaft motors, feature a hollow center allowing items like cables, hoses, piping, or lasers to pass through unobstructed. Servo hollow bore motors offer the same performance and benefits as traditional shaft-style servo motors but are distinct due to their hollow bore design.
Linear Actuators
Encoders can be used in linear actuators to provide precise position feedback, allowing for accurate and repeatable positioning of the actuator along its linear path.
Collaborative Robots
Collaborative robots, often referred to as Cobots, are a type of robotic system created for working alongside humans or other robots within a defined collaborative workspace to achieve common objectives. This human-robot partnership can greatly enhance productivity when work is effectively shared. In comparison to industrial robots, Cobots are typically more affordable, compact in size, and considerably safer for human interaction.
Industrial Robots
An industrial robot is an electromechanical system that is being widely used in modern manufacturing for increasing the speed and precision of working processes as well as reducing labor costs and human error. The most commonly used industrial robots are cartesian coordinate robots, articulated arm robots, SCARA robots, delta robots, cylindrical robots and gantry robots.
Automated Valves, Actuators
Valves in waterworks demand precise flow rate measurement, and cost-effective magnetic rotary encoders are an ideal choice due to their ability to count revolutions even during power shutdowns.POSITAL has extensive experience in the waterworks field. Their sensors are designed to offer accurate rotation, tilt, and length measurements for various applications. With a wide range of mechanical options and electrical interfaces, these sensors can be easily integrated into large cost-efficient projects or retrofit applications.
