Blowout Preventer
Process control is critical in creating a safe and efficient work environment. In offshore drilling, blowout preventer (BOP) systems are a vital safety component. By controlling the downhole pressure and flow of oil and gas, BOP systems are often the first component in control feedback. Critical control however doesn’t have to necessarily mean a complicated sensing system. One international process control company turned to POSITAL to aid in leveling their subsea BOP systems. The application called for a sensor that could offer dual axis tilt information and easily integrate with their existing control system. In the end the TILTIX fluid cell inclinometer was selected.
